"Non-halal authentic Thai food The staffs here are polite, attentive and friendly. I noticed many authentic Thai cuisines are served here. Both main dish, side dishes and desserts as well. Ingredients are fresh. The price is reasonable and no tax was charged. Thai Milk Tea (Hot / Less sweet) : 8/10. Those who don't fancy sweet drinks could maybe opt for no sugar or asked for very less sugar. The tea smells good and taste good. Mince Pork Basil with Rice (Purple Rice) : 9/10. Love this dish. The mince pork is not salty and the basil is visible and fresh unlike some shops that are close to nonexistent. The flavours are on point. The pork are very well minced and goes well with the purple rice, which is so unique. It's served with a fried egg to top it off. You can opt to have it with white rice or purple rice . Stir-fry Chilli Paste Pork with Petai and Rice : 9/10. Love this dish. The Petai are fresh and big. The portion is well measured with the pork where you can mix everything with the white rice and taste the well-balanced flavours in every spoonful. It's served with a fried egg on the rice. Lukchup : 8/10. I've been looking for this dessert for a long time and finally I found it in this shop. Fresh and tasty. It's not sweet and the skin is made so smooth. The design is adorable. You can see the handy work of the person who made the shapes so refined. I would definitely come back again There's a little orange cat that acts as the receptionist. It's docile and friendly. Half the time it's sleeping at the entrance, directly sticking by the shop main entrance door. Acting all cute and ready to be pet while taking it's exceptionally long naps."
"Simple environment for a great Thai meal. Asked for extra spicy pork basil rice, indeed it came super spicy. Braised pork leg was good too with nice portion. Skewers were reasonably priced. Pineapple fried rice came with the pineapple shell which I felt is better because you'll never know if the shells are reused elsewhere. Desert was great with finely blended ice. Overall great dining at a reasonable price compared to another establishment nearby. Oh and the majestic cat at the entrance.....cute!"
"We wanted to try another restaurant, but it was full, then we spotted this place. So glad we did! Food was served fast, tasted amazing, and the prices were affordable. Don’t just walk past it, give it a try. You’re going to love it and keep coming back, just like us! See, we finished all! Sedap!"
"Food deserves a plus point. Good food and the closest you can get here in a quiet and peaceful neighbourhood and not driving to Thailand. Interior is clean and simple home style table placing. Food well seasoned they catered for our 30 pax group. Food came promptly and service, 5 stars."
"Truly a hidden gem. Restaurant is spacious and quiet. Their dishes were fresh and delicious, generous portion of seafood. Had the clear tomyum seafood soup, fried kangkung, pad kra pow and red ruby. Red Ruby portion is slightly bigger than other places. Really recommend trying this place."
"Thai Spot – SS2 Hidden Gem for Thai Food Lovers! Tucked away next to the quiet housing lanes of SS2, Thai Spot has been serving up authentic Thai flavors for over a year now – and let’s just say, it’s the kind of place you’ll want to keep going back to. Ambience No frills, no fuss – the vibe here is simple, clean, and minimalistic. Don’t expect fancy décor, because the focus is clearly on what matters most: good food and good company. It’s the kind of neighborhood spot where families gather, friends laugh over tom yum, and regulars get their Thai fix without burning a hole in their pocket. Service The staff here are absolute gems – polite, humble, and super attentive. They’re quick on their feet, accommodating to your requests, and always serve with a smile. That alone makes dining here a pleasant experience. Food This is where Thai Spot shines. Their menu is stacked with authentic Thai dishes – think flavorful appetisers, fresh and tangy salads, hearty mains, and the must-have tom yum soups that pack just the right punch. From stir-fried veggies to pork dishes (yes, they serve pork, so not halal), every plate comes in generous portions perfect for sharing. Drinks & Desserts Cool down with Thai milk tea, lime tea, coffee, or even Thai cham. If you’re feeling light, the lemongrass pandan water is refreshingly good. Don’t skip the Thai desserts either – they’re a sweet ending to your spicy feast. Price Reasonable, especially considering the big portions. Great value for money – your tummy and your wallet will both thank you. Extras Lazy day at home? No worries – they’re also on GrabFood and ShopeeFood, so you can get your cravings sorted without leaving the couch. ⭐ Verdict If you love authentic Thai food, this spot deserves a place on your must-try list. Thai Spot SS2 is proof that sometimes the simplest places serve the best meals. Highly recommended – and yes, I’ll definitely be visiting again!"
"Thai Spot is opened by the elder sister of Frame in Happy Mansions, Section 17. Frame started as a Thai mini- market that offered authentic Southern Thai fares. It grew in fame for cheap and good food...well, it's still good today. Thai Spot is a prettier place and is very clean. We had dinner at Nyonya Restaurant behind Thai Spot and decided to come to Thai Spot for, what else, but a spot of dessert. We ordered the Man Tab (RM 6.90) and it was served nicely warm with very fresh grated coconut. We also ordered the Red Ruby (RM 9.90) which was served with very fined shaved ice and a delicious santan. We also ordered an Iced Thai Milk Tea (RM 5.90) and a Thai Black Coffee (RM 4.90). I appreciated that as I originally wanted a Milk Tea no sugar, the owner kindly told me that they use some Condensed Milk in their tea so it will have sugar in it. It was the same with the Milk Coffee so I ended up with a black coffee no sugar. Our coffee and dessert came to just under RM 28.00. This is my 2 cents worth. Judging from the desserts, I believe the sister has elevated the food served at Thai Spot. I will come back to try the food and update this review. Would I recommend it? Of course. The place is super clean, service is decent and the desserts were great."
"My son and I thaught the food was probably the best non-halal Thai food we have had in PJ/KL so far. Value for money. The decor is very minimalist and you would not think you were in a Thai restaurant.... It has more of a cafeteria/coffee shop vibe but very clean and air-conditioned. We did not have to wait long for the food, which was great as we were starving. There is ample street parking right infront of the restaurant and the portion of the mango sticky rice, is big enough for 3pax to share!! And it was so good that my son and I polished it! Pandan chicken was juicy, not dry and the deep fried salted egg squid was just perfect! Service was pleasant and the only downside, was that it isn't wheelchair friendly as there are steps in front. Hopefully that will b addressed soon. So for a restaurant that has only been around a year, we'll done!! The owner (I think) has Thai blood, so it's not surprising that the food is that good."
